Here are some highlights of the 2014 Lancaster County Summer Theater Season:

Ephrata Performing Arts Center / Sharadin Bigler Theatre – You need travel just a mile from the Historic Smithton Inn to enjoy critically-acclaimed community theater at EPAC. They offer a lot of variety: from classics to avant garde. Ephrata Performing Arts Center showcases talent that rivals that of the pros on Broadway.

Fulton Theatre – The Fulton provides an unforgettable theater experience in one of the most beautiful performance settings in our county – and it’s only a half hour drive from our inn. You’ll find Broadway shows to family favorite productions. The Fulton’s caliber of talent and variety of entertainment has won the hearts of theater goers of all ages from near and far.

Les Misérables 
June 3 – 29

Sight & Sound Theatre – Sight & Sound’s productions will take your breath away as they bring the stories of the Bible to life. Just 20 miles from our location, it’s easily accessible to our guests. The theater has become a must-experience destination for people of all religious beliefs and backgrounds.Most shows feature live animals – always a hit with the kids! You can also make reservations to take a “Behind the Scenes Tour” to learn how the Sight & Sound crews create their spectacular performances.

Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre – What could be more fun than theater, food and fun all in one destination? Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre is known for its entertaining musicals served with a meal. So, get out to enjoy dinner and a show, or you can attend just the theater performance if you wish.

Rainbow Dinner Theatre – Did you know we have TWO dinner theaters within just a  half hour drive from our bed & breakfast? Nice, right? Rainbow Dinner Theater serves up “all comedy…all the time” along with their delicious dinner fare.

Drinking Habits (a nun’s story)
August 16 – October 25

Hershey Theatre – Only 40-miles west from us on Rte. 322, the Hershey Theatre brings an array of entertainment including concerts, classic films, and Broadway performances.

American Music Theatre – As always, AMT has a phenomenal line up of live musical performances awaiting you just 20 minutes from the Historic Smithton Inn. Their season also includes various comedy and specialty performances, too. you’ll find entertainment from diverse musical genres including Rock, Country, Classical, Big Band, and more. Plus, they produce their own original shows and present featured stars on tour.
