These historical structures blend into the old American landscape and have become a symbol of nostalgia and modern intrigue. In fact, Pennsylvania is recognized as the birthplace of covered bridge architecture! Industrious residents from the early 1800s to early 1900s funded construction of more than 1,500 covered bridges.
