Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum
the Historic Smithton Inn, the
Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum is packed with classic excitement this fall.
Art Show at Landis Valley: Saturday, August 22 (9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
See the creativity that artisans of all varieties have to offer at this annual
art show held around the Landis Valley Museum Store. With 40 local artists and
craftsmen, you’ll find metalwork, glass art, jewelry, paintings, and more.

September “Ice Cream” Sundays: Every Sunday in September (12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.)
Swing on by any Sunday in September for folk music and wagon rides, and cool

Wool Frolic:
Saturday, September 19 (10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
At the annual Wool Frolic, you’ll find live animals and demonstrations of
crafts like weaving, crocheting, and even yarn-dying. You can also purchase
yarn and pattern books to give your hand a try at this unique craft. Find out more on the event page.
Saturday and Sunday, October 10 & 11 (11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)Experience horse-drawn wagon rides and let the children have fun in the children’s
discovery tent at Landis Valley’s oldest and largest event. You can also

Ephrata Cloister
learning the history behind the town of Ephrata by traveling less than a mile

Founder’s Day Block Party: Saturday, September 12 (10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.;
Admission $30)
This family-oriented event is a great source of fun, featuring Tall Tales with
Johnny Appleseed, live music, apple-themed crafts, and upstairs tours. Art
lovers will get to experience tours of the upstairs, featuring the work of
Andrew Wyeth and other local artists.
3rd Annual Artisans Faire And Antique Car Show: Saturday, September 19 (10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.)
Stop by for a look at the works of skilled artisans featuring everything from
pottery and weaving to wood carving and furniture making, and tour the private
collection of avid car collector Calvin High.
Gideon's Bones A Family Trick Or Treat & "It's The Great Gourd
[Conrad Beissel]" Outdoor Pumpkin & Gourd Exhibition: Saturday, October 24 (Trick or Treat 1:00 p.m. –
3:00 p.m.; Gourd Exhibition: Saturday, 3:00 p.m. – Sunday, 5:00 p.m.)
Come in costume for a children’s trick-or-treat experience, traveling
door-to-door at a series of historic buildings, and stick around to paint or
carve your own gourd! The Outdoor Pumpkin & Gourd Exhibition includes other
creatively painted and carved gourds.
1719 Hans Herr House
Maize and Snitz Fest: Saturday, October 3, (10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.)
Native Americans and Germans at this festival featuring a plethora of foods,
demonstrations of colonial-era arts and crafts, hands-on activities, and
interpreters in traditional dress. All will be held on the grounds of the 1719 Hans Herr House, the county’s oldest

Sleepy Hollow: The Legend Returns To Rock Ford: Fridays, October 2, 9, and 16 (Performance times
7:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m., 9:00 p.m.)
Follow this interactive performance of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow as you
follow the characters from room to room of a candlelit mansion.
6th Annual Headless Horseman’s Ball: Saturday, October 24 (6:30 p.m. – Midnight)
You’re sure to have a grand time at the 6th Annual Headless Horseman’s Ball. If
you love the tale of Sleepy Hollow, you’ll love this evening with Ichabod Crane
and his fellow townsmen. Enjoy delicious food, and dance the night away.
