Lancaster PA in February

January 27, 2014

There’s a lot to love about February in Lancaster County…and not just because of Valentine’s Day! February is also the host month to some really fabulous festivals. If you’re getting cabin fever, these events are the best medicine!

Lancaster County Festivals in February 2014:

Fire & Ice Festival in Lititz, PA

Friday, Feb. 14 through Monday, Feb. 17

A much-anticipated event, Fire & Ice is 8 mile drive from the Historic Smithton Inn. The festival kicks

off with a Friday night block party, live concert, and other entertainment as talented artists demonstrate their amazing ice-sculpting genius. Wondering where the “fire” in “fire & ice” comes from? That would be the Chili Cook-off where you’ll feel the heat! Throughout the festival, you’ll find all sorts of events and activities, too. And the ice sculpture creations will be on display throughout the festival so you can experience their awesomeness no matter when you attend.

For more information and a schedule of events, visit the Lititz Leo Club’s Fire & Ice website.

Lancaster Roots & Blues Festival

Friday, Feb. 21 and Saturday, Feb. 22

This feast of music spans five different venues and 9 stages in downtown Lancaster and is only 12 miles from the Inn.

Roots & Blues, featuring some of the hottest blues artists from across the country, is a “must” if you’re craving a quintessential musical experience. It’s a smorgasbord of Blues, Jazz, Bluegrass, Folk, Funk & Soul, Zydeco, Polka, with hints of Rock ‘n Roll and Roots Reggae.

For all the details and to buy tickets, visit the Lancaster Roots & Blues - A Festival of Music website.

For a little taste of what's in store at the Roots & Blues Fest, check out Clarence Spady performing on the Artie Lange Show.  He's just one  of the fantastic performers lined upl!

Get out and enjoy! And don’t forget to let me know what parts of these festivals stole your heart this February.
