Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

April 29, 2014

Mom. She’s one special lady! With Mother’s Day fast approaching on May 11, now’s the time to start

thinking about how you’ll honor your mom (or someone who has been like a mom to you).

If you find choosing the perfect gift a daunting challenge, here

are a few ideas of where to go locally to find something Mom will love.

The Historic Smithton Inn’s hometown of Ephrata has some fabulous shops where you can find unique gifts. Check out these local stores within 5 minutes of our B&B. You’ll find the kind of stuff that will put a smile on your mom’s face including: jewelry, accessories, stylish home & patio décor, and more…

Where to Shop for Mother's Day Gifts:

Sheldon’s Gallery and Frame Shop (20 W. Main St., Ephrata)   An Ephrata institution, Sheldon’s offers an array of gift ideas to suit all tastes and budgets.

Parkhill Jewelry (5 W. Main St., Ephrata)
If Mom loves beautiful jewelry, you’ll want to pay the folks at Parkhill a visit!

Tip: Sheldon’s and Parkill are both conveniently located in downtown Ephrata, so you can park and walk to explore all the other shops in the downtown district, too.

Extra Olives Gift Shop (358 N. Reading Rd., Ephrata)
Extra Olives is relatively new to the Ephrata area, and it’s already become the talk of the town because of its unique selections.

Ten Thousand Villages (240 N. Reading Rd., Ephrata)
Shop for mom and feel good about where the money is going. Ten Thousand Villages offers fairly traded gift items capturing the cultures of artisans from the developing world.

Ephrata Performing Arts Center at the Sharadin Bigler Theatre (320 Cocalico St. in Ephrata Community Park)
If your mom loves great theater, consider delighting her with a gift certificate for one of their upcoming shows.

Of course, I’ve given you just a few suggestions. There are many other fantastic gift destinations in Ephrata and beyond in Lancaster County. When you book your next getaway at the Historic Smithton Inn, I’ll tell you all about them!
