The most popular attraction in Strasburg PA is hands-down the Strasburg Rail Road!  You can take a simple “out & back” tour or choose an enhanced experience like riding in a VIP car or taking in the special wine & cheese tour.  This train ride is consistently in the running for the "Most Scenic Train Ride in the US", so we highly recommend you check it out.

2- Experience an Epic Model Railroad – Choo Choo Barn

Located right across the street from the Strasburg Rail Road, you might be lulled into thinking you should skip this attraction because it’s a children’s activity.  I’m here to emphatically tell you that you couldn’t be more wrong!!  While children are definitely going to enjoy a visit to the Choo Choo Barn, it is NOT a ‘baby-place’.  This model railroad is SERIOUSLY cool!

Strasburg is home to nationally the nationally known theater, Sight & Sound, as well as some other small theaters & music venues.  While Sight & Sound Theater is literally the most visited attraction in Lancaster County, the other theaters and performance halls in and near Stroudsburg offer fantastic entertainment for visitors as well.  Sight & Sound and Living Waters are both biblically-oriented experiences, while American Music Theater, as the name suggests, is a concert venue that also hosts special events like Dancing with the Stars.  Magic & Wonder Theater will wow you with amazing illusions that will have you thinking you’ve been transported to Las Vegas!  Enjoy!!

50 - Take a Train Ride with Thomas the Tank Engine

Did you know that portions of the Thomas the Train movie were filmed in Strasburg, PA?!  Its a special treat for children both young and young at heart to visit Strasburg during one of the Thomas the Train events hosted at the Strasburg Railroad.  The Special Event happens two times a year, from late April to Mid June and then again in September.

Separate photo opportunities with THOMAS, RUSTY, and MAVIS (select days) are even available! Other activities include a visit with Sir Topham Hatt, play pods, a dance party, and more!

 

51 - Stay at a nearby Historic Bed and Breakfast
