About Weathered Vineyards

Weathered Vineyards was opened by Richard, a former meteorologist and Environmental Engineer, and Dana, a nurse with a fierce dedication to quality and a keen marketing sense. With Richard’s scientific mind and Dana’s marketing prowess, they have perfected the art of winemaking.

What Makes a Great Wine?

Great wine comes from great grapes. That’s why Richard spent so long identifying the best soil profile for his grapes and the exact terroir needed to create his exquisite wines. Eastern Pennsylvania happens to have soil that is very similar to what is found in Bordeaux, France. With this knowledge, Richard and Dana decided to establish Weathered Vineyards in Lehigh County.

Visit the Tasting Room

Currently, Weathered Vineyards offers a variety of red and white wines. These range from light and crisp Chardonnays to rich and full-bodied Merlots. You can sample these 11 varieties at the Weathered Vineyards Tasting Room, which is attached to Historic Smithton Inn! If you’re not much of a wine drinker, that’s okay. There are plenty of craft beers from St. Boniface, Stoudt’s, and Lancaster Brewing Company available. There are plenty of craft sodas available too. The tasting room is open from Thursday to Sunday, from noon to 6 p.m.
